A Mother's Day Cake for Three

This cake is full of symbolism! It is a pound cake filled with strawberries and covered in whipped cream. Placed on top of the cake is a chocolate box and inside are three shortbread lips with the names of each mother. Placed around the box are shortbread feet, one for each of the children. It is decorated with edible borage flowers. In the center of the cake is a vase with three antheriums.

English Wedding Cake

This is a traditional English Wedding Cake. Six months prior to baking, Currants, raisins, orange and lemon peel are soaked in brandy. Molasses, chocolate and these candied fruits make a rich fruitcake that can be saved in a tin for the year anniversay. This is where the tradition began before the freezer. This wedding cake is decorated with a rooster and a horse to symbolize the Bride and grooms chinese astrology. Shortbread hearts surround the couple.

Yin-Yang Pisces Cake

A decadent flourless chocolate cake, iced in ganache and covered in marzipan. The yin and yang are represented by two dark chocolate fish covered in edible gold and silver. Chocolate leaves circle the cake as well as pastel colored marzipan fish.

Once In a Blue Moon Cake

A ginger cake covered with marzipan and arranged with shortbread comets, chocolate truffles and candied ginger stars. Out of the cake'scenter come shooting stars on the end of a chocolate wand. This cake was auctioned off in Glen Ellen, CA to raise money for the Dunbar School.

Two Serpent Cake

Inside a buttery crust is a rich fudge tart shaped as a serpent. Covered with dark chocolate and adorned with european candies. The symbolism behind this cake is the two halves of one whole, the masculine and the feminine.

Italian Caseta Cake

A buttery pound cake, layered with ricotta cheese and shaved chocolate and lemon zest. Iced with ganache and hand painted marzipan. This cake was made to celebrate forty years of marriage. The dog and horse represent the couple's chinese astrology signs. Surrounding the couple is love in the form of hearts and kisses. The yin and yang is representative of the female and male united. The cake sits on a bed of chocolate coins to bring abundance.

Seder Cake

Dark chocolate cake made with Matzo Meal for the Passover Seder. At the center is a Star of David made of marzipan with a solid chocolate heart covered in gold leaf.

The Bridge Party

Four lemon pound cakes filled with lemon curd, iced with chocolate. The cakes and shortbread cookies which represent the four suits, Diamond, Heart, Spade and Club, are nestled amongst the chocolate coins.
